Karen Condon, Author of "Are you a Survivor?"

Karen Condon received her MFA in creative writing at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1993, and has written a novel and two short story collections. Her stories have appeared in The Iowa Review, Bottomfish Magazine, Sonora Review, Kansas Quarterly, Arkansas Review, Antigonish Review, and Fiddlehead.

She wrote the stories in Are You a Survivor during and after her treatment for breast cancer in 2001 and 2002. The title refers to a question she was asked at a breast cancer support group the day after her diagnosis. She lives in Springfield, Massachusetts.
